Huntington Project Web Site Closing May 1, 2009

Dear Huntington Project Web Site Visitors,

The Huntington Project was created in 2003 with specific aims in mind:

  1. increase communication within the community
  2. facilitate opportunities for clinical research (COHORT)
  3. provide a forum to evaluate research initiatives (SET-HD)

Happily, the mechanisms for sustaining these processes are in place and are now operating independently. Therefore, we will close the Huntington Project web site in early May 2009.

Thank you for your support and interest.

Sincerely,
(on behalf of the Huntington Project Communications Group)

Setting Priorities

We are at the brink of a new era of therapeutic discovery for Huntington’s disease. The Huntington Project will bring together the entire clinical research community, including government and industry, to engage in the decision-making process required to develop treatments that make a difference for HD.

Which experimental treatments to examine (and in what order) is one of the most important decisions for the community to make. Through joint meetings, workshops, an interactive website, and open lines of communication, the Huntington Project will facilitate a clinical trial decision-making process that is:

  • Systematic and evidence-based in the evaluation of basic, translational, and clinical research findings
  • Inclusive of a broad and diversified group of investigators
  • Dynamic and flexible in responding to emerging data
